FRMN 120B. COLLEGE SUCCESS SKILLS. (2 Credit Hours). The First Year Experience Course at Southern University and A&M College introduces first time freshman into their academic community and engage them in the process of scholarly inquiry. This course is required, two credit hour course for first year students. This course coupled with other University College initiatives exist to implement a successful transition for first-year students at Southern University and A&M College. Furthermore, this class establishes the foundation for gaining knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for academic success on The Bluff and beyond. This course will meet twice a week for two hours for the course of 15-16 weeks.

NURS 602. DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY OF NURSING RESEARCH (Credit, 3 Hours). Overview: presenting the logic, methods, and techniques of scientific research. Emphasis will be placed on design decisions, psychometrics, statistical analyses, and computerized databases. Students will design a research proposal applicable to nursing.

Prerequisites: Enrollment in and passing all final semester required and co-requisite courses.

393. GENERALIST SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE I
(Credit, 3 hours). Course based on a generalist
problem-centered framework. It covers the
engagement, data collection, assessment, and
contract negotiation phases of problem solving.
The course integrates theory, values, skills, and
development of professional practice styles.
Prerequisites: SOCW 198, 200, and 298. Open to
social work majors only.
