ENGL 100B. CoRequisite English. 5 Credit Hours.
Corequisite English (5 credit hour format). Focus on writing skills considered essential for succes in college-level courses. In addition to a review of standard English practices (grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling), the course emphasizes writing as a learning, thinking process and includes practical application of these conventions through sentence, paragraph, and essay development. Discussion of and practice in strategies used in prewriting, writing, and revising expressive, informative, analytical and argumentative essays. Requires mandatory laboratory participation. (For students with an ACT standrard score of 17 and below in English and/or 440 and below on the SAT.)
