ABCP 425 INTERSHIP

3-6 credit hours

The key objective of this course is to enable the student to gain practice skills in addiction counseling at an approved site. The student will have an opportunity to be exposed and/or participate in the 12 Core Functions under the supervision of an LAC, LCSW, CCS or an LPC. The course requires that students complete 150 hours at the internship site for each course in which the student is enrolled. Students are encouraged to meet withthe Internship advisior during the pre-advisement period of the previous semester to obtain the official internship packet. Upon completion of meeting with an approved supervisor, signed forms are then returned to the advisior for placement into the course. Note: Students may be required to complete a legal background clearance and moedical screening to be placed at certain approved sites.
